llms.txt

TL;DR: A first-party Markdown file that gives LLM crawlers a curated, structured map of your most important content.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt (and the more comprehensive llms-full.txt) is an emerging convention — analogous to robots.txt — that hosts a Markdown summary of a site's most important content, positioning, and citations for AI crawlers. It improves extraction accuracy and reduces the risk of LLMs mis-attributing or hallucinating about your brand.

“llms.txt is the welcome mat for AI crawlers. Most brands don't have one — which means LLMs are guessing about you instead of citing you.”
