Crisis Readiness Assessment
Twelve questions mapped to the Crisis Velocity Framework™. You'll get a 0–100 readiness score, a per-phase status across Detection, Decision, Deployment, and Debrief, and a prioritised list of what to fix first. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is stored.
Phase 1
Detection
Seeing the incident early enough to act.
1. Do you have 24/7 monitoring across social, news, and AI answer engines for brand + executive mentions?
Includes Perplexity/ChatGPT citations, not just Google Alerts and social listening.
2. Is there a documented escalation path from monitoring signal to on-call decision-maker within 30 minutes?
3. Have you defined pre-agreed thresholds that classify an incident as Tier 1, 2, or 3 severity?
Without pre-agreed thresholds, the first hour is wasted arguing about whether it's a crisis at all.
Phase 2
Decision
Making the right call in the first 60 minutes.
1. Is there a named crisis lead with explicit authority to speak on behalf of the company without approvals?
2. Do you have pre-drafted holding statements for your top 5 plausible crisis scenarios?
Data breach, executive departure, product outage, safety incident, litigation. Draft cold; deploy warm.
3. Have communications, legal, and executive teams rehearsed how they will make joint decisions under pressure?
Phase 3
Deployment
Executing across channels without stumbling.
1. Can you publish a statement simultaneously to your newsroom, social channels, and press list within 60 minutes?
2. Are your executives media-trained specifically for hostile crisis interviews, not just friendly ones?
3. Do you have an internal-first cadence so employees hear from leadership before they see the news?
Phase 4
Debrief
Learning and repairing narrative once the acute phase ends.
1. After incidents (including near-misses), do you run a documented post-mortem within 14 days?
2. Do you have a 90-day narrative repair plan that goes beyond issuing a statement — earned coverage, thought leadership, product proof points?
3. Do you audit AI answer engines quarterly for stale, incorrect, or damaging framing that persists after the acute phase?
LLMs keep citing the crisis-era coverage long after the news cycle ends. Someone has to fix that.
