Domain Authority (DA)

TL;DR: A 0–100 score from Moz estimating a domain's likelihood to rank in search.

What is Domain Authority?

Domain Authority (DA) is a 0–100 score developed by Moz that estimates a domain's likelihood to rank in search results. Earned media on high-DA outlets passes more SEO authority than coverage on lower-DA ones. Note: DA is a third-party metric, not a Google signal. Crackle PR uses Domain Authority as a triage filter for outlet targeting, not a ranking algorithm — DA maps roughly to both SEO link value and LLM training weight for the publications that carry the most citation gravity.

Related terms

  • Backlinks — Links from third-party sites pointing to yours — a primary SEO and authority signal.
  • Earned Media — Editorial coverage of your brand in third-party publications you didn't pay for.
